I almost over looked the accelarator jet located in the float bowl top also. I had to take the thing back apart to actually find it. There is a million damn pieces to this little baby. I picked the wrong one to tackle being my first every rebuild.

Pilot air  jests are easy to  miss.  Some carbs hide their  idle mix  jets  under a seal so  most people  using them  don't  mess with the mix.  Those can present  real  head scratchers for those that need to  clean and adjust them .  When  in doubt, it's always best to do a search on what you want to  work  on ..  We  can  help in forums like this one, but unless one has actually dealt with a specific problem on a machine they own  all  most of us can offer  is general  information and  "best guesses"

Man I've been searching, reading, YouTube, and a few other things for 3 days now. I knew the jet was somewhere because every kit came with it. It took me a few hours to figure out what people meant when they said leak jet. I really appreciate you taking the time out to help me and so polite and understanding with a newbie.

That’s the thing with Quadcrazy!  When I first found this site I was borderline loosing my mind about a problem I was having on one of my bikes.  I consider myself a good mechanic and figuring problems out is not a big deal for the most part.  Over the years I’ve gotten so much better but continue to learn every day.  But sh** like this comes up and really makes me reset and go back to basics.

Actually it was @davefrombc that pointed me in the direction of my problem I was having on that one particular bike and wound up being exactly that!

So big shout out to Quadcrazy and the member base including @Ajmboy and @Admin and let’s keep paying it forward!

Good afternoon guys. I have an update. Lol. I finally broke down and took the quad to the shop. After rebuilding the carb myself, I was able to get it to fire up, but as soon as I hit the throttle more than a quarter way open, it stalled out. This was 8 weeks ago almost and it's still in the shop. Yes, can still. I'm about ready to give up on ol rumble bee. They had it for 3 weeks and rebuilt carb, checked valve, new fuel lines, new filter, cleaned air filter and called told me it was ready. Got it home and didn't make it half a mile and same crap. Back firing, hesitant, and never got into 4th great before it stalled out an acted out of gas. Gas dripping out the bowl of carb. And was like it almost had vapor lock. I had to remove gas house and allow fuel to free flow and get what air pockets out. Got it home and back she went. They had it for 3 more weeks and this time they have rebuilt the carb for second time, new fuel lines, bigger Jets, new accelerator pump, new cock valve in gas tank, check all the valve clearances, new stator, new rectifier, new air filter, new spark plug, new battery, and called to tell me it was ready again. Got up there and the damn thing will not idle and backfires still. Now she will run thru 3rd, limited space, and feels stronger than ever but will not idle and back fired almost every time you got on it. He is blaming the yoshimuri exhaust to be causing the back firing and he is rebuilding the carb again but this time using name brand high performance Jets so he said. Can anyone help, or suggest the back firing? My brother, which is a self proclaimed master mechanics of every engine made, said I needed to upsize me valve springs and to check compression? Hell idk I just want to ride man. Any help is appreciated.

So I’ve got a 2000 Honda 400ex absolutely love it!! I’ve had it for about a month, I ride with bruteforce 750’s, outlander 850’s and 1000 sxs’s and I was thinking of getting a trx450r carb and a full hmf exhaust. And probably doing the air box mod too, how much power would this give my 400? Just a little different or a big difference? Cuz if it’s not much of a different I’ll just stick with my dg slip on..... thanks!

I am new to this site. Now down to business, I have been given a Kawasaki 220, tires are trashed and it has been setting for a long time. Do I need a battery in it to find neutral? I know there is a neutral switch and if I shift down(7 times????)   then up one using the neutral switch I should be in Neutral. As you see I am in a learning curve here ......coments welcome.

Picked up a barn find that someone had already partially disassembled because the “motor locked up” but they never opened the case. Everything was bagged and labeled, and as I’ve mentioned before- I love a challenge ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

After a couple hours of fun with various pullers and hammers I managed to persuade the magneto/flywheel to come off. Hoo boy what a mess. Then I found an actual rats nest in the clutch cover. ಠ_ಠ
