I run a half pound less of what the rating is just for comfort. Takes a little bit of the rough ride out.

I also use nitrogen in instead of air.  Nitrogen has no pressure change through the seasons cold or hot so my tire psi always stays the same.

nice @Frank Angerano!  I just follow whats on the tire no questions asked lol

they can hold a lot of air though- not recommended, I picked up my sportsman from my friend and one day decided to check the pressure- supposed to be around 10 psi (these are kenda executioners) and he had pumped them the 40 psi in front and 50 rear- needles to say I immediately let the pressure out down to spec...

It depends on the combined overall weight (Pilot + machine) and the terrain you plan to ride into if you are planning on a tarmac ride I'd rather use close to 14-15 psi

but if you intend to ride on mud, sand or snow I'd go to the 5 psi side of the spectrum .Low pressures increase grip, High pressures increase tire duration. Nice rides!!

What tire gauge are you guys using? My stick pressure gauges that I tend to use for truck tires is not very accurate at the pressures needed for atv tires (5-8psi) I am just curious what others are using and have had good luck with.

Thanks

I typically use a regular tire gauge like this:
