Cool. I did notice that the throttle wasnt working. So I took the thumb throttle off and the cable was never installed. So I fixed that. The trans doesn't shift. It's stuck in second gear. I'm thinking a sensor or a vaccume leak. But I won't be working on this till the 110 is done.

That’s a great idea. I like to finish one before I start anything else. I’ve been trying so hard to get the Mojave over to my garage to get started on it since I finished the Bayou 220.  Maybe next week after the weather wans up a bit.

But that bike looks like a serious machine for pushing snow.   I hope it’s not more then what you think is wrong like a blown tranny.

I hope not. But then again this one isn't mine. It's my best friends. He dropped it off last night and said to fix it. I won't be buying parts but he will get the same quality of build as if it was mine. Isn't that how you build reputation? By word of mouth.

So we all know it's a BRP. Anyone know specs? I haven't looked at it today.

It's worse for me because of my M.S. But I'm pushing thru this pain.

But I will have the parts today. My son doesn't know when it will be fixed. The last he saw was the motor and electronics exposed.

Lol I know that look on the kids face.  When I got my boy his Bayou 400 it needed the top end taken off to swap out the cam.   I wanted to show him how to pull the head off to see the piston and crank while I was in there.  His face when we were done tearing into the bike ! He said dad this thing is never going to run again.

A few days later the bike was all back together and ran so well. He sees things a lot differently now. Lol so many questions though.

Keep working through the pain brother.  It will get better.

Keepnus posted with some pics!!!! I love pics!

I have a Yamaha Timberwolf 4x4 250. I want to put a winch on it, but just wondering if the charging system will handle it or not ? Has anyone added one to their machine and have you had any issues?

I have a Sportsman 450 HO and almost killed my self when loading it on my truck with ramps.  It rolled off the top of the ramps and tailgate and nearly landed on me.  I now want to winch the ATV in to the truck.  My question is are the front side bed tiedowns in my 2011 RAM strong enough to winch to without distorting the hooks or sides of the bed?

Hi everyone, I’m new here and new to 4 wheelers. Just got a Yamaha bear tracker 250 and joined here to see if I could get some help.
The motor runs and it drives if it up on jackstands but if you get on and try to ride it, it starts to drive but then quits after a foot or two and dies out and won’t drive. The guy I got it from said he was running and using it shifting through all the gears great and he started it up the next day and it started this.
He told me he thought it was the U joint on the driveshaft. He said it was probably worn and needed to be replaced.
I just finished pulling the swing arm and rear end assembly to check out the U joint and there’s no play in it. It’s tight and not nearly enough play to be loose enough to not catch and go.
Any ideas on what it could actually be?
      Thanks
      Timothy

My first quad and I have a problem. I have a Kawasaki Bayou 300 1997. When I start it. It will go on high idle for about ten seconds before it goes down to low idle. It does this even when I don't touch the throttle or the choke.
Also, when I give it some throttle and let go. It will come back to fast idle for about ten seconds before it comes down to slow idle. Therefore I have to wait for it to slow up before I can shift. The throttle linkage drops right back to the stop on the carb buy the rpms stay up for a while. If you have any ideas what might be wrong please let me know. thank you Fred

Bucking started about a month ago and works ok after 1/2 hour warmup.  Today while working on it i discovered that if i put the ignition switch in LIGHT position it runs fine right from the start.
I'm stumped!  Any idea why this could be?
