That's a good quad and as long as the price is right, I would get it, Check sites like KBB.com for the resale value. As far as checking, you'll want to see how many hours/miles are on it if it has a display/speedo. Look at the overall condition of teh plastics, frame, tires, rims...to see how hard it was ridden. Check the oil level and condition. Open the seat and see what it looks like under there. Start it up and see how it runs. @Frank Angerano buys a lot of used atvs and knows what to look for.

Hey @Lellwyn Griffin I was just looking at the exact same bike to buy in NJ. Same color etc.  it had a plow and winch installed the bike was in great shape. I wound up going for something a little better but also sad I didn’t grab it.  The guy wound up selling it for $2600 I believe. Great bike.

But like @Ajmboy said I buy a lot of bikes.  The things I look for are color and clarity of oil, wiring work that has been done by others, take a good look at the frame for repairs like welding work or bends in the frame from a wreck Check the plastics underneath for mismatch colors. A quick look at the carburetor to make sure it’s not a cheap aftermarket. And I always take a quick compression reading.  Anything  from 150 to 180 psi is good and usually within range for that cc engine.  Go through all the gears and if possable I like to raise up the wheels off the ground and spin the tires to see if they wobble (bent axles or rims) or have any movement in the bearings.

post some more pics I would love to see it.

Good luck

Hi all - I recently had a shop fix this quad and it hasn't been right since. The jug was resealed as it was leaking, the rings were replaced, and the valve stem seals replaced. Shop said the cylinder walls were great so nothing was done there. The motor still smokes, heavily on startup and all but quits once warmed up. Enough that I can live with it if I can fix what I came to ask about. I mentioned this work because since I've gotten it back it seems like it has power but tops out at a much slower speed than before. It's old so I don't have a speedo but I pulled out my phone at it tops out at 25 mph. I know before the work, I was getting up to 45+ mph... It's so bad, my 10 year old daughter is pulling away and straight leaving me in the dust with her governed Polaris 90.
Given the work done, what are some thing I could be the cause of such a drastic difference? I immediately thought timing but the marks appear to match up with a youtube video I found... no idea if it's correct though. It sat in another shop for 2 months and they gave me an $800 quote just for the starter... it pull starts fine.
FYI: I would take it back to the original shop to figure out but I had some issues that make them a no-go for me.

Anyone have bad experience with these clutch kits?  Looking to get one for an 80s quad that I have.

I believe the Kawasaki is either an '03 or '04. Green automatic with shifter on the right side. Rear differential was bad, so I replaced it with another. The 4 wheeler rolled in neutral when I parked it in the shop to work on. Took old diff off and replaced it with another one. The diff I put on, turned before I put it on the bike. Once I put it on the bike, the rear end wouldn't move at all. It's like it's stuck in gear. Bike is still in neutral. I've tried rocking the bike while trying to put it in high, won't budge. Can anyone tell me of something to check or try? I haven't opened up the transmission case yet to see what's going on. What should I be looking for?

You guys are my last resort. Got a 2000 prairie 300. Brand new battery, neutral switch, aftermarket carb, spark plug, silenoid, key switch. Fuses are good. No neutral green light, will crank if cross the silenoid, but won’t start. No power at the ignition switch or regulator. I’m thinking cdi box or starter relay. Anyone have any suggestions?
