anyone knowwhati need to look at if my 400ex is smoking out of the breather on the valve cover.  I just put a new top end in and it runs great other than that. Too much oil?   Is the breather suppose to have a hose on it? Mine doesnt

If you put new rigs in and if you broke one you may be getting blow by causing too much crank case pressure. Most valve covers with a tune in it should have a hose on it and probably feeds back to the breather box. Check out parts schematics on line and see if there is a hose. If it does then you'll need it.

ok, thanks guys. I havent checked the oil yet because i had been riding it and wasnt sure if it would be accurate. The manual says to let it idle without throttle for 10 minutes before checking

Hope it doesnt need a top overhual since thats what i just did.   I did more research and there is a tube that comes off the valve cover and goes into the top of the oil tank.  I explained it as smoke but i guess a better way to describe it would be steam

Well, i found the breather tube that i tucked away up in the front of the plastic when i did the top end, i guess i just forgot about it,  Hooked it up and ran great with no smoke. Oil level was perfect and oil was nice and clean.  Also after the break in process had to adjust the valves again. They were loud as hell after about an hour of run time. Seems like everything is working as it should now..... Thanks everyone for the tips

Have you ever been on the trail and your tire valve goes bad. No way to break down the wheel and replace it. A lot of you probably know about this already i had heard of it but never used one. Just punch out the old one insert and tighten down the nut

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I’ve got a 2000 400ex with a dg slip on muffler, it came with he stock muffler on it but the previous owner had the dg in a box so I put it on. I’ve been riding it for the past month and a half and every time I let off it backfires, and the other day the backfires got way louder, 2x louder! I’m concerned that I may hurt my motor? Why does is backfire??? Thanks

My name says it all. I have a '03 Honda Sporttrax 400EX with a new aftermarket carb on it that seems to be having issues. I can start it but it idles really rough and when I give it throttle it just kills the engine. I have tried adjusting the idle screw but to no avail. I am in the San Diego Ca area.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to get an owners manual for the thing too but can't seem to find a downloadable one.
