man I was going to say a quadzilla, I loved mine way back when 500 power! yea they had a fragile top end but hey ther were crazy fast!

best sport atv

I would have to say the yamaha blaster, why you ask?

cheap even new!

light wight

parts are cheap

easy to mod

fairly quick and nimble

looks decent

easy to maintain

2-stroke power baby!

and Ive seen 8 year olds handle them all the way up to 60 year olds!

can be draged, trail ridden, motor cross, gnc raced, duned, flat tracked, TT raced

even though I feal 2 small on my girlfreinds(not to mention its pink) I can still have a blast on it!

I love my TRX450. It has the best ergonomics(for me) and plenty power. I might not win in a drag race but lets take it to the trails or desert. The thing is the prettiest of all the 450s. IMO Stock shocks suck, but everything else I love.

Without a doubt the TRX 250R, completely dominant 22 years ago when it was introduced, and continued to dominate until the E.P.A and the new gen 4-strokes took over. Even the new 450R frame geometry is still not much different from the old R. Stellar handling, endless list of aftermarket parts and good old 2-stroke power.

BANSHEE!!!!!!!!!!!! A few bolt on mods and they are super quick... it can be adapted to all kinds of racing, drag, MX, XC, TT dirt track, sand... TONS of aftermarket parts... They made em for 20 years for a reason... parts are reasonably cheap...

What i have ridden... DS 650- 250r- 450r- 400ex- blaster- banshee- z400- 426ex- 300ex

I have my z400 because it is my favorite of all I have been on. as you can see there are a lot i haven't ridden, but I like my aftermarket support, my ergos, and reverse.

I wish I could also have a 250r and a 450, but not sure which one, have not rode enough. But overall, I got a good balance of power, technology, and usability. The z is for me.

Great answers, shows how diverse our group is :)

I love my 400ex...cause compared to the 450r, shes lighter weight, thumb throttle is easier to push, less arm pump there....and shes got reverse, well can have if you get a newer model...

but i do love that you can get a rekluse for the 450...if they made one for a 400ex, i'd totally have that :)

how do you get 400lbs?

its 396 dry,

a gallon of gas will run about 5.8 to 6.5 lbs. and with a 2.9 gallon tank you are looking at around 414 lbs. thats just gas not counting everything else.

i see claims of about 428-430.

but thats ok. im 460 dry lol.

I said ABOUT 400...notice I didn't specifically say under. Also depends on how many mods you have and what you've taken off. I've taken off the parking brake, and the heel guards and have light weight handlebars that don't have a cross bar. Jeesh...

Stoopidbot rode my 660r on his honeymoon so now he's familiar with the power even tho mine's not quite stock....shhhh! and I have him COMPLIMENTING it on VIDEO hahaha

for a ute I'd get a Kodiak450- all the goodies of the Griz except the weight and bulk.

for a sport I like my 660r, maybe a700r.

best SELLING sport quad of all time is the Yamaha warrior 350.

You can't be telling people that, next thing you know Honda finds out and there goes any chances of a full factory ride!

I ride a Warrior 350 which is a heavy bike to throw arround in the woods. Woods riding is what i mostly like to do so i'm going to go off the deep end here and say for the money and handling (and mods) the Blaster was the best woods bike i've ridden. ( Ive ridden Banshees and Honda 250s) Just for the fact that the bike is so light and and still has plenty of power.

Heres my story. Kinda long. I guess I was a late bloomer when it comes to quads. I had never ridden a quad in my life. Rode Dirt Bikes as a kid growing up. Back in Oct of '06 I found a Mustang on craigslist. Took it for a test drive one morning before work. Fast car. 351 Cleveland. I had planned on meeting the guy again after work. For some strange reason thats still to this day beyond me, I stopped in Hillsboro MotoSports on the way home from work. I had 6 Grand on me. There was a left over '05 sitting by the front door. It was on sale for $4999. It was $5499 OTD. I didnt even look at anything else. I knew nothing about quads accept I thought it really looked coool and I had the money in my pocket to buy it. I was sitting on it when the salesman walked up and asked... "Can I help you?" Without hestitation I pulled 60 Ben Franklins outta my front pocket and said "I want this Quad. Load it up in my truck." It was just about dark by the time I drove away from the shop. BTW, I didnt bother to ask my ol lady if I could buy it. LOL. Anyway, I took it by the house and showed her. She was kinda stunned but not mad. We drove over to a friend of mines house and unloaded it. I took it to the field across the street from his house. HOLY CHIT!!!!! I was surprised by the power. I had it for about 2 weeks and took it to Sand Lake. I was there a few hours and rolled it on a banked turn at the top of the bowl right before you get to the one-ways. When it rolled, I flew off and landed on my belly. The quad came bouncing and landed on my back. For a month I couldnt even walk. I was scared of it. I considered trading it for a 250EX. Went back to the shop. The salesman said..."Dude!!! You dont want a 250EX!!! Trust me. Just get used to it" I still wasnt convinced. I put it on craigslist for $4000. Calls were coming in. I had a guy that wanted to come look at it that evening. I decided to take it for one last ride at Browns Camp before I sold it. I was still afraid of it. After about 5 minutes I started feeling comfortable on it again. I decided right then, I loved my Honda 450 and would learn how to ride it instead of selling it. That was late Nov of '06. Work was slow for a Painter in Oregon. My new job everyday? Going to Browns Camp and ridding my Quad. I bought my Girl Friend an '02 Blaster. I rode my 450 for 4-6 hours almost every single day for 3 months. And yes, I know my way around Browns Camp pretty well. LOL. In March I bought her an '06 TRX250EX (Thank God I didnt trade my 450 for one of those) LOL Since then, I have become totally addicted to quads. I love them. Couldnt imagine not owning at least one quad. Luckily I have two. My "07 was $6500 OTD in July of '07. Bought it for my Girlfriend. Traded in her 250 EX. A month later we broke up. So, I wound up with two Honda 450's.

I got up, flipped the Quad back over. I had the wind knocked out of me.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!
