Is there a 'best in class' tool/app method to map private ATV trails?

We're lucky to have some space to ride and have created many trails but can't figure out the best/most efficient method to generate a map?

I've tried GIA GPS for iOS with some success, however the stop/start when trails cross over each other makes it tricky/difficult to get an accurate 'total mileage' vs. duplicate overlap.

The software I use is for windows only, but I am sure there is something similar out there for IOS.

Take this example, we rode this abandoned roads, stopped, turned around and went back the way we came but then continued in a different direction. By zooming in at the start and end points I can see the points that made the track. All I do is use the scissor tool to split the track at both ends then delete one of them. Now if I look at the track of this old road, it will show the true distance (one way of course) I then closed the track for the curved part to make it one track. I left the other track there unconnected, but my software allows a "Y" track.

The "X" shown are where I made waypoints, the blue boxes are where I took pictures. This software can also take pictures from a camera and use the tracking data to geo tag photos, provided the clock is set in the camera.

I attached an actual picture taken at that location, I am not sure if uploading it strips off the geo-tag info. If not, you can open the picture and see exactly where I took the picture.

Hope that helps.

Mike

Does anyone have a recommendation of a really Heavy Duty ATV cover. I have bought several and they do keep the water off somewhat, but they are very thin and do not contour with the shape very well and water pools up in the rack louvers. I think i may be looking for a heavy canvas one, if anyone has a recommendation it would be greatly appreciated.

So we are almost a month into winter and I've been so busy working on my house that up until today, I didn't realize that we just haven;t gotten any real snow yet to warrant putting the plow on my grizzly. So that got me thinking, what are the latest plows out there and what ATV plows are the best? I've got 2 snow plows for my grizzly, a quadboss pile driver atv plow set up and a snowsport ATV plow. They are both a bit dated now and I tend to stick with the snowsport due to ease of use and I just like it so much. So if you have a plow on your ATV, please let us know what it is and post a picture with your atv/plow would be awesome. Would also like to know what you like and dislike about it.
This is back a while when I did a write up on these 2 plows.... in 2009 I got the snowsport and in 2012 I got the quadboss.

I have a Sportsman 450 HO and almost killed my self when loading it on my truck with ramps.  It rolled off the top of the ramps and tailgate and nearly landed on me.  I now want to winch the ATV in to the truck.  My question is are the front side bed tiedowns in my 2011 RAM strong enough to winch to without distorting the hooks or sides of the bed?
