Hello everyone, I just bought a 2007 Honda recon 250es I am the second owner, before I purchased the quad the seller went through and cleaned the carb and made sure it ran. I rode it up and down the road the next day then it stalled in 4th gear now it will not stay running. I took the plastics off and tried turning the idle screw up and down once I got it running but it still backfires and shuts off. I drained the fuel from the gas tank ( the previous owner said it had about a 1/2 gallon of old fuel and he topped it off with fresh fuel) and charged the battery and I tried starting it again with the choke on and it will run for a bout 45 seconds to a minute and 30 seconds the nit dies out. anyone know what the problem could be?

update: so I puled the airbox and carburetor off, took apart and cleaned out the carburetor and jets which were slightly clogged so I cleaned and cleared the perforation holes and the inside of the jets in and out and I put it back together I noticed the fuel line connection that is connected to the top of the carburetor was gunked up with some dirt and grime, I cleared that out of all that out and I drained the gas tank through the gas line to make sure there was no dirt or anything in the tank. re attached everything and fired it up with full choke then I turned it down to half choke and the to no choke and it was running fine all of a sudden it started to back fire a bit then it shut off and had trouble starting again. I figured I flooded it a bit so I let it sit about a half hour and its still having trouble starting so I messed with the idle screw and it still wont run correctly. any idea on what I could do or what it could be?

Check  the spark  plug  for  fouling  and go through the  carb again . It  may  be  more  crud fouled the  jets ..  Also  check  for  any  loose connections in the  wiring  for the  ignition circuit that  might  have  occurred  when  you worked on it   last time.

      I Crashed My Quad
Well the Way I Ride, some of you knew it was Inevitable.
      Below are Three Videos.
First one is Slow Motion of How it Happens.
Second one is Normal Speed, and what happens after the Accident.
Third one Follows more of what happens after .

I Was Riding By Myself. I was going through a Mud HOLE Either there was a log or a rock, or A Dip but just as I was almost through it, Machine, Rolled over on my right side, as soon as I contacted the ground, I Heard A SNAP! I got up, flipped the Quad back over. I had the wind knocked out of me.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I’ve got a 2000 400ex with a dg slip on muffler, it came with he stock muffler on it but the previous owner had the dg in a box so I put it on. I’ve been riding it for the past month and a half and every time I let off it backfires, and the other day the backfires got way louder, 2x louder! I’m concerned that I may hurt my motor? Why does is backfire??? Thanks

My name says it all. I have a '03 Honda Sporttrax 400EX with a new aftermarket carb on it that seems to be having issues. I can start it but it idles really rough and when I give it throttle it just kills the engine. I have tried adjusting the idle screw but to no avail. I am in the San Diego Ca area.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I would also like to get an owners manual for the thing too but can't seem to find a downloadable one.
