My experience for my 98 sportsman. .keep on mind it has the smaller rear rim so my tire choices are not all that great ...

Best...  Goodyear mud terrain. Long lasting awesome all around great tire.  No longer available of course

Worst. ...super swamper vampire . Too soft. Ended up on gravel a few times over a few months of winter snow riding. . Burned down from 1.5 inch paddle to 1 inch in no time. Junk. But if you are able to 100% stay in soft terrain they are insane

Current. . Mud lites . Pretty decent.  But I miss my Goodyears

I have always run Dunlops on my quads.  They seem to work really well in the mix of terrain and snow I ride in.  My local shop sells them and they are in the budget, so I stick with them.

I had Dunlops on my predator.  Awesome sand tire. Perfect for what I doing at the time. Maybe one year I'll get off my wallet and get an outlaw 525.. got too beat up on the predator .

If I had a bigger budget my dream setup would be an Outlaw or Predator hooking up on Maxxis Razr.  All my fun money was coming from my Ebay store and sponsors I was able to get through social media. The last two years included a new baby, multiple job changes, and several injuries, so not enough riding time to keep on that roll.

A new baby alone would eat up any extra money you had for sure .

I liked the predators solid axle for sliding into and out if corners.  Was sick. In worried that the irs outlaw would hook too much

ROFL In my dream garage I have a Predator sitting next to a 77 Bandit Trans Am.  In my real garage I have a Trailblazer 250 sitting next to an 82 Trans Am.  I got pretty close eh!!

I'm running Kenda Bearclaws on mine, they seem to be a great tire for what I'm using them for.  I don't do any muddin' so.....they are great for the mountain trails I'm riding.  Had  one set on for two seasons now and don't seem to be hardly worn.  You guys are lucky, you at least have a dream garage.

Have you ever been on the trail and your tire valve goes bad. No way to break down the wheel and replace it. A lot of you probably know about this already i had heard of it but never used one. Just punch out the old one insert and tighten down the nut

So far it has worked very well.

So we are almost a month into winter and I've been so busy working on my house that up until today, I didn't realize that we just haven;t gotten any real snow yet to warrant putting the plow on my grizzly. So that got me thinking, what are the latest plows out there and what ATV plows are the best? I've got 2 snow plows for my grizzly, a quadboss pile driver atv plow set up and a snowsport ATV plow. They are both a bit dated now and I tend to stick with the snowsport due to ease of use and I just like it so much. So if you have a plow on your ATV, please let us know what it is and post a picture with your atv/plow would be awesome. Would also like to know what you like and dislike about it.
This is back a while when I did a write up on these 2 plows.... in 2009 I got the snowsport and in 2012 I got the quadboss.

Hello all! I’m new to the 4 wheeler world, but not new to the mechanic world. I was a diesel mechanic for many years and last year got into jet skis. I just bought a 1987 Yamaha moto 4 350 and now learning the ins and outs of 2 stroke engines. Looking forward to learning all the things.

I bought a 1996 Sportsman 500 4x4 about a month ago, and I love it. Unfortunately, I've been experiencing a few problems with the high-range gear. The first problem is that the gear selector will intermittently pop out of high and into neutral. This problem will sometimes occur when starting from a stop and sometimes will also occur while at cruising speed. The last time this happened I stopped and put it back into gear, however, as soon as I tried to throttle the machine would die. I turned it on again with no problems put it back into high and it died again. Once again I turned it on with no problems put it into low instead and it worked fine with no problem. I drove in low down the road slowly for a little and then shifted back into high with no issues.
I plan on working on it this weekend and would just like some opinions or feedback from anyone who may have experienced these problems before. I'm very mechanically inclined but im unsure of exactly where to start as this is the first Polaris ATV that I've owned. Any feedback is appreciated and thanks in advance
