I made something had makes circlips super to install. d0823be9f8ff7b074715eded6cdabd07.jpg

All it is a piece of steel stock that I ground down to fit in the wrist pin(because I didn't have the right size steel stock on hand so I just took some metal off w/the grinder). Then I drilled a hole about half way through it and hammered a short pin into the hole. Then I ground the pin so it would just fit in the circlip's hole. then put the one end of the circlip in, put the pin on the end you just in. Press press the tool in pretty hard and twist. It makes putting them in a breeze.

The main handle part ended up being 15/32" and the pin was 1/8".

Not sure I understand your description of how to use it. Can you post a pic of it in action? Circlips can be a real pia. And a good tool for them is expensive.

Thanks!

I got the idea from this video just I don't have a lathe and mill and shop press so I used a drill press, steel stock, a vise and a hammar. It is around the middle that they show how to use it. And you do have put some push behind it or it won't work. Insert the circlip part of the way just one tail of it. Take the stud poking out of the tool and put it on the tail of the clip you just put in. Push in towards the piston and making a spin it. But while you are spinning(not fast just rotate it in a circle in the wrist pin) you also need to put a little bit of pressure towards the stop the stud is at or the tool will slip and the circlip will go flying and will need to start over. The video does a good job showing how to do it.

      Hello All
I'm kinda new to ATVs. I just bought a 1987 Suzuki quad runner 230 Dual Range. I'm having a problem finding info on it. It's very clean, only 2.800 miles. The front wheels are only 30 in.center to center. I was thinking about adding wheel spacers to give it more stability. I realize the added stress on ball joints and bearings. I'm wondering if there are any other concerns? Any input is greatly appreciated!

My 2000 big bear 400 4x4 has 26x10x12 tires in front and 26x12x12 in the rears. Trying to find replacement tires those sizes are hard to find, or, when i do, they cost a lot more than i want to spend.
But, there's a lot of 25" tires out there the same size, just 25" and not 26". If i got the 25" it should not make a difference....right?
