Just got my first ATV, a '11 700 Grizz and planning on doing some trail riding soon. First piece of equipment I'm adding is a winch and I'm needing some suggestions for something that would be good for my kind of riding but comes at a decent price. Usually I try to get quality stuff (Warn) but since I'm needing to conserve denero right now I figure this winch is something that (at least for me) doesn't have to be crazy great/expensive. Although I'd still like to get something that's decent quality and can pull well, in my middle age I hardly think I'll be voluntarily launching into any terrain that has the potential to get me too stuck...thus I doubt I'll be using the winch that often.

Anybody have a suggestion for a model that's decent quality for around say $300 bucks? Doesn't have to be built to be used time after time but quality does still count.

Thanks

I have a Warn on my ATV. It came with the machine when I bought it so not sure what the price was on it if buying separate. It gets used a lot (as snowplow lift) and hasn't given a lick of trouble. I bought a Superwinch for my sons machine for about $150 and its been good so far. Had a Sam's Club winch on my old ATV and mine was fine but a buddy had lots of problems with his Champion winch.

When you look at winches a couple of features I'd insist on. Make sure it has a brake so the rope dont unspool when it's at rest. The next is the winch has a free spool feature so you don't have to power the rope out.

I googled it and going by product description there it does have both.

A winch is something a person don't need often but when needed its a life saver.

Have you ever been on the trail and your tire valve goes bad. No way to break down the wheel and replace it. A lot of you probably know about this already i had heard of it but never used one. Just punch out the old one insert and tighten down the nut

I have a Yamaha Timberwolf 4x4 250. I want to put a winch on it, but just wondering if the charging system will handle it or not ? Has anyone added one to their machine and have you had any issues?

So we are almost a month into winter and I've been so busy working on my house that up until today, I didn't realize that we just haven;t gotten any real snow yet to warrant putting the plow on my grizzly. So that got me thinking, what are the latest plows out there and what ATV plows are the best? I've got 2 snow plows for my grizzly, a quadboss pile driver atv plow set up and a snowsport ATV plow. They are both a bit dated now and I tend to stick with the snowsport due to ease of use and I just like it so much. So if you have a plow on your ATV, please let us know what it is and post a picture with your atv/plow would be awesome. Would also like to know what you like and dislike about it.
This is back a while when I did a write up on these 2 plows.... in 2009 I got the snowsport and in 2012 I got the quadboss.
